Soña means dream in Papiamentu, the language of my home island.
 

Love feels like that to me: dreamy, fleeting, a little crazy. It’s the most significant thing we will ever do. Two people standing in front of everyone they love saying, this is my person, I choose them, every single day. 

I never planned to start this. I was 31, recently single, sitting in a café in Lisboa with my matcha, editing a wedding reel. I had 5 weddings that year and 5 gifts I didn’t know how to give, so I brought my film camera and captured the day the way a friend would. Messy, honest, unposed. The looks, the shy guests, the bursts of joy.

Soña is my way of holding onto that feeling, blending old and new, film for nostalgia and iPhone for immediacy, and telling the story of a day exactly as it felt. Because when time moves on and details begin to blur, but the photos and videos will remind you of the dream you lived.
